Over the last little while, opportunities have come my way to share goodness. These are campaigns, movements and challenges to put more positivity and understanding into the world. This Wisdom Project was first. Unselfish Stories is next on the docket.
The information I was sent on it was just so well said, I’ll let Elise take it away:
Did you see Kim Kardashian’s recent Super Bowl commercial? (http://youtu.be/ZTwzsV3I3OQ) Between that and her book of 352 selfies titled “Selfish” coming out just before Mother’s Day, we wanted to take action and combat this message.
Watch this video (but seriously, don’t skip the video):
We’re releasing a book titled “Unselfish” on May 5th, the same day Kim’s will be released. Our book contains 100 stories of people who have been unselfish, all told by someone other than the person the story is about.
Our first goal is promoting our IndieGoGo campaign for this project. We want to send a message by reaching $150,000 with this campaign and become the highest-funded book ever on IndieGo-Go. https://www.
What a great way to support positive and uplifting stories rather than contributing to those things like “Selfish” that don’t do anything to make the world better. I love when people come together to make the world a better place. It’s all about what we can do for each other, not what our selfie looks like on Instagram (or SnapChat…or Facebook…or Twitter…or wherever else we post them). Click here for a sneak peek of the book.
So spread the word, contribute if you can and “help save humanity!!!”
Love your neighbor as much as your selfies!
Share an “unselfish” story! (or 2!)
Story 1: A friend of mine bought the coffee for the person behind him in line the other day. Just because.
Story 2: Instead of receiving gifts, my mom puts on a service project every year for her birthday and asks her friends and family to contribute. She’s amazing.
I’m blessed to be surrounded by good humans.
